Dina and Joel Sherzer Latin American Studies Scholarship
One of my goals as director of LLILAS Benson is to enhance undergraduate support so that we may offer transformative research experiences to talented young scholars. Last fall, we established the Dina and Joel Sherzer Latin American Studies Scholarship to support undergraduate students who have demonstrated financial need. The first Dina and Joel Sherzer Scholar completed his field research in Nicaragua this past summer. It is gifts such as this that make these kinds of transformative experiences possible for our students!
We ask that you please consider making a gift in support of the Dina and Joel Sherzer Latin American Studies Scholarship by May 31, 2017. Our goal is to be able to fund two undergraduate scholarship awards to the next generation of Latin Americanists.
Remember, 100 percent of your donation will go toward supporting the Dina and Joel Sherzer Latin American Studies Scholarship!
With gratitude,

Genaro García Digitization Initiative
The year 2021 will mark the 100th Anniversary of the Benson Latin American Collection.
In preparation, one of our goals is to digitize the Genaro García Collection, which contains some of the rarest and most unique materials in the Benson.
Dr. Lorraine Haricombe, Vice Provost and Director of UT Libraries, has committed a one-to-one challenge match, up to $1,000, for this effort.
Maximize your impact with your donation and help us preserve Mexican history!
