Black Studies at The University of Texas at Austin, a collective rooted in activism, draws its strength from three distinct, yet aligned campus units – the African and African Diaspora Studies Department, the John L. Warfield Center for African and African American Studies, and the Institute for Urban Policy Research Analysis. Through cutting edge policy research, thought-provoking scholarship and teaching, and robust arts and cultural programming, Black Studies at UT continues to be a premiere research and education destination for students, faculty, visiting scholars, and the community.
At Black Studies at UT, we know how important it is for our students to be fully prepared for the workforce when they leave The Forty Acres. That’s why we offer a variety of employment opportunities for students who are interested in receiving on-the-job training in office management, gallery administration, policy research and analysis, events coordination, and multi-media communications. For many of our students, working for Black Studies at UT provides key financial stability while they are in school, but that’s not all. It also provides a safe and supportive space to learn and grow professionally.
Your support during 40 Hours for The Forty Acres helps Black Studies at UT offer meaningful, supportive, and inspiring employment opportunities for UT students.
