With more than 1,000 graduates and counting, UTeach Austin is answering the critical need for qualified STEM teachers in Austin and across Texas. With programs like UTeach Internships and UTeach Outreach that serve our local community and the UTeach Institute’s national expansion efforts, UTeach is educating tomorrow’s scientists and engineers to play a vital role in America’s growth. We prepare teachers. They change the world.
Your gift, no matter the size, will go a long way to support the initiatives that make the UTeach program a success. You can make a one-time or a sustaining gift to:
UTeach Teacher Preparation supports the overall program in areas not supported by the university funds like Internships and Mentor Teacher stipends.
Internships are an important component of the UTeach program and serve multiple populations. UTeach students receive both financial assistance and practical STEM education-related experiences. Internships support the local community by providing high-quality STEM interns who work in STEM educational nonprofits and local schools. UTeach interns also serve local K–12 students by acting as teachers, mentors, and friends.
UTeach relies on education professionals in the greater Austin area to help UTeach meet its goal of preparing highly qualified teachers. Mentor Teachers graciously allow UTeach students into their classrooms, providing significant feedback that helps our students grow and learn during their entire time in the program, from Step One to Apprentice Teaching.
UTeach Outreach to help UT PREP Summer STEM Camps. Your gift will go toward funding scholarships for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who could not otherwise afford such a rigorous and challenging program.
The UTeach Institute to support UTeach’s efforts to strengthen STEM teacher preparation nationwide through its annual UTeach Conference. The yearly conference brings together more than 500 faculty, master teachers, co-directors, students, and industry stakeholders with sessions covering the UTeach model, innovative lessons, the latest research on UTeach and STEM education, and student recruitment, retention, and support.
