University of Texas Libraries
Learn about four initiatives that we can tackle together to transform the library experience.

Support the Aaron and Cara Choate Technology Innovation Fund

The next great idea, the next great masterpiece and the next ground-breaking invention will be made at UT Libraries. In our spaces like The Foundry, a makerspace, students are experimenting with audio recording, video production, fabrication, 3-D printing, animatronics, game design and fiber arts.

Together we can ensure students are not priced out of these life opportunities. Your help will:

  • Remove the barrier of cost of supplying the latest equipment for students and faculty.
  • Update spaces to emulate today’s enterprises.
  • Provide access to digital global collections for UT and the world.

Support the Genaro García Digitization Initiative

Since the 16th century, Mexico’s evolution from a colonial territory of Spain to a modern independent nation has been documented through handwritten accounts, beautifully drawn maps, and splendid books and engravings. Many of these materials are part of the Genaro García Collection, one of the foundational rare book and manuscript collections at the Benson Latin American Collection. We need your help to digitize these items, preserving them for the future and enabling people from all over the world to engage with them online. The García Collection highlights the history, politics, and culture of Mexico from the 16th-20th centuries, and includes the papers of prominent Mexican political and intellectual figures. The Genaro Garcia Digitization Initiative is a major project leading up to the Benson’s centennial celebration in 2021.

Founded in 1921, the Benson Latin American Collection is one of the hemisphere’s premier repositories documenting both the history and culture of Latin America from the 1500s to present day, and Latina/o history and culture in Texas and throughout the United States.

Support Fellowships and Scholarships at UT Libraries

UT Libraries employs 30-40 Graduate Research Assistants and over 250 undergraduates who rely on UT Libraries for job training and a living wage. Together we can offset the financial burden of tuition for workers who are integral to providing outstanding service to their fellow students, faculty and staff as well as our users across the world.
