Environmental Science Institute

Since 1999, Hot Science - Cool Talks has provided front row seats to world-class science by bringing leading science, technology, engineering and math professionals and their research to the community! Showcasing the innovation of UT Austin’s leading faculty and alumni, Hot Science – Cool Talks is truly showing our community that what starts here, changes the world.

Hot Science – Cool Talks events are immersive educational experiences with:

  • Interactive Community Science Fairs filled with engaging STEM activities, demonstrations and resources. Our fairs are something the whole family can enjoy.
  • Live and on-demand webcasts for formal and informal educators. ESI’s webcast viewing parties feature full technical support for remote viewers.
  • Educator professional development opportunities and resources. ESI shares the speaker’s presentation slides and develops TEKS-aligned lesson plans and resources related to the talk. The Talk Archives provide educators with the materials needed to give their own lessons on cutting-edge topics.

All gifts from the 40 hours for the Forty Acres will go directly toward the production of our Hot Science – Cool Talks events, ensuring the Environmental Science Institute can continue to produce free, open talks for the greater Austin community.

Please join us in supporting Hot Science – Cool Talks today!
