Landmarks

As the public art program at The University of Texas at Austin, Landmarks provides free access to 37 great works of modern and contemporary art to everyone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For many, the collection provides an opportunity to engage with great works of art for the first time.

The collection enhances the beauty of the campus while it supports research and learning by showing significant art historical trends from the past six decades.

While the art is paid for by the university, Landmarks needs your help to provide maintenance and conservation treatments to the collection, as well as offer outreach and educational programs.

Free monthly walking tours are available to the public on the first Sunday of each month. Occasional dog walking and bike tours are also offered. Self-guided tours and children's activity guides are always available online.

Gifts at any level make an impact. Here are a few examples of your gifts in action:

$2,500 – Repaints the benchback inside the Skyspace

$1,000 – Application of anti-graffiti coating to one sculpture

$500 – Removes efflorescence on Sol LeWitt’s Circle with Towers

$250 – Hires a professional conservator to hold a 2-hour workshop for student volunteers

$100 – Provides materials for docent volunteers to offer free, guided tours

$50 – Pays for one Skyteam attendant shift in James Turrell's Skyspace The Color Inside

$25 – Provides one set of tools and materials for one conservation student volunteer
