Center for Students in Recovery

The mission of the Center for Students in Recovery (CSR) is to provide a supportive community where students in recovery and in hope of recovery from addiction can achieve academic success while enjoying a genuine college experience free from alcohol and other drugs. CSR's activities are founded on the principle of peer-to-peer recovery support: the successful practice of connecting individuals in recovery to support one another outside of a clinical setting. Peer support relies on several key components, which include working a program of recovery, social engagement and service.  We offer students opportunities to grow and discover who they really are free from the bonds of addiction, including service work on and off campus, and sober social activities. These opportunities encourage our students to think of themselves no longer as social pariahs and outsiders, but as vital, contributing members of the campus community and society. CSR's open-door policy and commitment to meeting students wherever they are in their recovery journeys has been the attracting force for students in recovery seeking to gain admission at UT Austin and has saved students from relapse or attrition. Help us ensure that CSR will be there for future generations of Longhorns by making a gift today.

University Health Services (Student Health Advisory Council)

University Health Services (UHS), formerly the Student Health Center, is leading the nation as a premier college health program. In spite of recent budget decreases, we’ve worked to expand access to high-quality, convenient healthcare for our Longhorns students, increased our public health leadership on campus, and provided enriching opportunities for students in hands-on clinical, health promotion, and leadership volunteer experiences. During 40 Hours for the Forty Acres, we ask you to make a gift to UHS to support the programs and resources we provide UT students every day. Support from alumni and friends like you allow UHS to continue to be a leader in college health services and provide students with world-class learning experiences outside the classroom.
