The Department of Art and Art History is dedicated to fostering our students’ educational initiatives in the visual arts. Comprised of four divisions (Art Education, Art History, Design, and Studio Art), the department equips students with the skills necessary for a career in the arts.
Support environmental art exhibitions at the Visual Arts Center. Two art history Ph.D. students, Dorota Biczel and Allison Myers, will bring two international art exhibitions focusing on environmental art to the Visual Arts Center at The University of Texas at Austin in Fall 2016. Donate to their Hornraiser to help provide funding for their artists’ travel and lodging while staying in Austin.
Provide scholarships for Learning Tuscany study abroad students. Our popular study abroad program, Learning Tuscany: Art and Culture in Italy, introduces students from across the university to art and culture first-hand as they travel to Florence, Siena and Rome and stay in the historic facility of Santa Chiara in the town of Castiglion Fiorentino. Scholarships ensure students can take advantage of this great opportunity.
General. Not sure where or what to give? General funds help the department send students to conferences and cover miscellaneous expenses throughout the year that allow students and faculty to take advantage of opportunities to further their education and studies.
