The University of Texas Rugby Football Club is a competitive D1A club team that plays in the Red River Rugby Conference.
We compete against other teams including Louisiana State University, Texas A&M, Oklahoma University, Baylor University, and many others. We are in a building stage right now, but with the acquisition of a brand-new coaching staff in the Fall of 2017 we believe we are on the path to become conference champions in the near future. We have high aspirations for the team, but we know we can achieve them with a strong work ethic and dedication to the game.
Fundraising Initiatives:
->Because rugby is such a complex and new sport to the United States we believe it is imperative to play as many different teams (in and outside of conference) as possible. Playing against teams of top-level skill outside of our conference allows us to challenge ourselves and see different play styles in the game. We plan on using fundraising contributions to finance team trips to play Top-10 teams in the United States. We believe this is a major key in the growth process.
->Our coaches put in a lot of time and effort into making us into better rugby players and better people. With a larger budget, we would be able to pay them the salary they deserve.
