American Chemical Society

Who We Are

American Chemical Society is the largest professional group of chemists in the world, and our student organization acts as a liaison between students and the national organization. We organize outreach, fundraising, and social events to enrich our members' collegiate experiences as well as their academic and professional goals. We also organize school-wide and community volunteering, outreach at local schools, and always participate in Gone to Texas, Natural Sciences Week, and Explore UT. We have a strong passion for research and focus on connecting students to labs and help them get into graduate school. For members not interested in research, we help them uncover the other options available to them outside of graduate school.

What We're Fundraising For

American Chemical Society hosts annual National Conferences and we try to send our most active members to these conferences. This spring, the Conference will be hosted in Indiana and we are in need of funding to cover room and board as well as travel expenses for our members. Attending the Conference will not only allow our members to connect with other professionals and graduate schools, but it will also provide them with an exclusive opportunity to make important connections. As we move towards more in-person experiences after a virtual last couple of years, our members crave physical connection and networking with the professionals who inspire them, and our student organization is eager to help our members realize this. Therefore, through this campaign, we are fundraising for a chance to send our most committed members on a memorable trip to the ACS National Conference. Any funds raised from this campaign would truly benefit college students as they explore and uncover their academic interests in a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere.

Your Impact

Donors' gifts to our student organization would allow our members to hear about influential research being conducted by prominent members of the chemical field. Through this, we hope that our members will be more inspired in terms of pursuing their own interests as well as when choosing what area of research to get involved in. Research plays a critical role in the advancement of society as a whole and we hope that going to the ACS National Conference will help energize the next generation of emerging researchers and intellectuals.
