Texas Crew

Who We Are 

Texas Crew is the nationally competitive, coed rowing team at the University of Texas at Austin. Six days a week, we wake up as early as 4:30 AM to practice on the water. We maintain this disciplined schedule so that we best represent UT when racing across the country. Since its founding in 1969, Texas Crew has strived to create an environment for adventurous spirits to fall in love with the sport of rowing, regardless of athleticism, exposure, or experience. As a result, we have rowers from all different disciplines and backgrounds, united by the pursuit of high performance and achievement. We are more determined than ever to carry on the Texas Crew legacy and culture as we work with an ambitious new coaching staff this season.

 

 

What We’re Fundraising For

Each year, we set our sights high. Our league, the American Collegiate Rowing Association (ACRA), is the world's largest and fastest-growing rowing association with 136 current colleges and universities. As a top ten team within ACRA, we train for, expect, and execute gold medal performances. However, COVID-19 decimated our recruiting ability for two years. This left us with a smaller team to deal with the same overhead expenses (a bus is the same price whether 25 or 50 people are on it, for example). We are working hard to keep our name at the top while navigating these financial challenges, and we cannot do it alone. With your financial support, we can bring new members into our sport, upgrade and repair equipment, race, and ensure a student-athlete experience that will be cherished for a lifetime.

 

 

Your Impact

Texas Crew is led by an elected executive board whose responsibilities include recruitment, budgeting, organizing travel, and more. Being student-run means we rely on the support of our members, alumni, and families and friends. Contributions help Texas Crew continue to provide men and women at the University of Texas at Austin the best chance to fall in love with the sport of rowing.
