Latin Economics and Business Association

Who We Are

The Latin Economics and Business Association (LEBA) is a McCombs affiliated organization focused on academic opportunities, community service, and building a welcoming Latino community at UT. LEBA provides a family that welcomes all majors, ethnicities, backgrounds, and interests through general meetings where we bring speakers from different companies, and make our members aware of academic opportunities. LEBA also coordinates community service events that help our members make an impact beyond their UT community, and provides social events to make students feel welcome and part of a family during their 4 years of college and beyond.

What We're Fundraising For

LEBA's mission at UT is to create a welcoming Latin community where students feel like they can find people with similar interests and goals to excel together as diverse longhorn leaders. LEBA provides UT students with various opportunities for growth in areas like academics and professionalism in the business world, community service, and social events to create a welcoming environment where students belong to a family. This past year, LEBA was able to almost double in size, which helped LEBA make an impact that was bigger than ever. To account for this increase, our organization would benefit from the gifts from donors to continue providing our members with the best opportunities. It is imperative for LEBA to keep helping UT students reach their full potential.

Your Impact

With your help, LEBA can continue to grow and provide opportunities for UT students. LEBA wants to continue rewarding its members for their efforts and participation with awards like "Member of the Month" or the annual "Academic Scholarship". We also have many new projects in mind, like starting a Mentorship Program for our members, where LEBA looks to support and guide UT students in whichever way they need. In addition, we are also looking to implement more freshman events to make UT freshmen's transition to college easier, and by giving them a welcoming community to be a part of. LEBA prides itself on thinking big and wants to provide its members with new challenging opportunities this year. LEBA will not only continue hosting Case Competitions with judges from companies like Goldman Sachs, but will provide its members with a new challenging opportunity called the Hackathon. In this event, students will compete to design the best software programming for a prize. Gifts from donors will help LEBA fulfill this vision of new projects and opportunities for our members. LEBA plans these projects with the objective of inspiring our members to reach their full potential, explore their interests, test their skills, and develop life-long friendships along the way.
