Who We Are
Since its inaugural class in 2011,the Texas Exes Forty Acres Scholars Program has grown into one of the most elite and competitive scholarships in the country. The Forty Acres Scholars Program inspires and nurtures visionary leaders and helps them use their talents to benefit society. The program provides students with a four-year, full-ride scholarship and an unparalleled college experience. It serves as the premier recruiting platform for UT and is one of the most prestigious undergraduate awards in the nation.
What We Are Fundraising For
We say, "what starts here changes the world" and the Forty Acres Scholars Program was created to be a catalyst for driving positive change around the world. Since its founding, the program has been unlocking the potential of our most gifted young minds for the betterment of society. This is made possible by the generosity of alumni and friends of the university. To continue to thrive and compete, the program must broaden its base of Longhorn support.
THE SCHOLARS SAY...
“Over the past four years, I’ve had the opportunity to explore South and Central America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. These experiences have been the greatest blessings. Traveling has fostered creativity, curiosity, confidence, and compassion.”
- Clio Harralson, Class of 2020
“Beyond the friends I have made through the Forty Acres Scholars Program, I have also met amazing alumni who have poured into me in unimaginable ways.”
- Lucious McDaniel IV, Class of 2022
“The all-inclusive nature of the scholarship alleviates many pressures college students feel, such as the expense of textbooks and housing, and allows them to focus on academic and extracurricular interests as well as expanding their world horizons through study abroad.”
- Mary Margaret Burniston, Class of 2021
“The Program has been life-changing. The alumni and events have given me the opportunity to pursue my professional goals. The enrichment stipend enabled me to explore interests outside my major. And my cohort has served as my family away from home.”
- John McDonald, Class of 2021
