Texas Athletics

At Texas Athletics, our core purpose is to instill the passion, knowledge, and character for all student-athletes to win with integrity — in academics, in athletics, and in life.

Our Goal: To continue to fundraise for our student-athletes by collecting unrestricted Longhorn Excellence gifts.

Gifts made to Texas Athletics during this spring’s 40 Hours for the Forty Acres campaign will go towards supporting Texas student-athletes and their athletic programs. Funds collected through this campaign will be awarded to Longhorn Excellence and will support the overall student-athlete experience through education, nutrition, recruiting, travel, sports medicine, facilities improvement, and student-athlete development.

As the fundraising department of Texas Athletics, The Longhorn Foundation relies on annual contributions from our donors to fuel our operations and the need for continued financial support. 

Donors are the difference-makers and have a major impact in terms of giving our student-athletes the means to perform at the highest level.

Longhorn Excellence is a designation of the Longhorn Foundation's Annual Fund dedicated to creating a competitive edge for Texas student-athletes in academics, athletics, and life.

Where Your Gifts Are Going

Texas Athletics sustains its own operations and the educational and competitive pursuits of more than 500 student-athletes. With your gift, our Longhorns can remain at the forefront of collegiate athletics.  

  • $50 can fuel a student-athlete for one day with the proper nutrition they need to keep their body in top-notch shape
  • $126 provides a student-athlete with the proper care and recovery they receive from our sports medicine department for a week
  • $538 gives a student-athlete one month of proper strength and conditioning training
  • $1,320 covers a semester’s worth of books and fees associated with enrollment at UT for a student-athlete
  • $5,140 offers one year of academic support, such as tutoring and learning services, to a student-athlete

Our department has the desire to maintain and enhance the Texas student-athlete experience. Donnie Maib plays an integral part in helping Texas student-athletes succeed at the next level in his role as Assistant Athletics Director for Athletic Performance.


Carol Capitani has helped the women’s swim team achieve impressive results, leading the team to a Runner-up finish in 2022 and 2023.


Throughout her career on the Forty Acres, Kelly Pash has served as a cornerstone for the Texas Women's Swimming and Diving team.

 

Amy Culp plays a major role in ensuring that Texas student-athletes have the proper nutrition and care they need to succeed at the highest level.

 

Ryan Murphy helps lead the Texas Women's Golf team to a Big 12 Championship this past year.


Timmy Allen was a vital member of the Texas Men's Basketball team for the past two years, leading the team to the Elite Eight in 2023.
