Texas Trap and Skeet

 

 

Who We Are

Texas trap and skeet is a coed collegiate shotgun shooting sports team at the University of Texas at Austin. We have been a sponsored rec sport for five years but we have been on campus for around eight years. That being said we are still a relatively new organization but we are gaining ground in the competitive sphere.

 

 

What We’re Fundraising For

The first initiative we are fundraising for is to bring people to nationals and to pay for the entry fees, hotel rooms, and ammo for shooters at this event. As a mainly self funded organization or shooters and competitors already have to bear the financial burden of shooting once or twice a week every week, as a team we attempt to help reduce these overall cost by paying for large entry fees such as regionals, nationals, and other competitive shoots around Texas. Our second initiative deals with helping subsidizing the cost of ammo for our members. This is something that we began to slightly do this past semester due to successful fundraisers in the past and it shown that it allows our members to practice twice as much and that’s become much better at competition. Just at this past regionals we had several members post personal best one of which was a 99 out of 100 in trap. Our third fundraising initiative is called our general funding support this will pay for things like team uniforms, merchandise, and target fees. Another new initiative the team started this semester was helping subsidize the cost for targets, ideally we would like to be able to pay for everyone’s practice as a team but we’re not at that point yet and hoping that through this fundraising initiative we can reach that by the end of the year.

 

 

Your Impact

Donating to these initiatives will allow the team to bear more of the cost for members as opposed to having our members pay for everything out of pocket. This would be a great help at the coming nationals and practicing after we compete at nationals throughout the summer leading up to the next fall. We find that the toughest time to remain competitors during the summer and The Team isn’t able to help out in anyway, but these donations we know that we will remain at a higher competitive level throughout the summer and when we return to the university in the fall.
