Who We Are
Our organization is an interdisciplinary video game development club where students come together to make games. We offer art and coding workshops, speaker meetings from local game developers in the industry, and specialized game jam events geared towards advancing students creatively and technically! In addition, it serves as a great environment for students of every major to socialize with others and discuss their game hobbies and passions.
What We’re Fundraising For
We are fundraising for supplies to run larger events like UT Game Jam (students form groups and make a game in 48 hours) and GDC^2 (various industry-related talks and workshops), as well as the funds to provide food for members during speaker meetings as an incentive to attend.
Funding would be used to help make our organization more attractive for students to join and keep our members motivated and happy to continue to participate in events. We want as many passionate students as possible to know about our org!
Our org would be undoubtedly grateful for any funding, as budgeting the small amount we have for our goals of the organization has proven difficult. It isn't easy to secure sponsorships to fund our events and speaker meetings, so we sometimes run out of food for students and have to cut down on certain supplies to make do with what we have.
Success in our org would definitely translate to being beneficial to the community and university as a whole, as we provide a great creative space for many students and spread as much knowledge as possible to help our students succeed. With more funding, more events and speakers are possible, broadening our reach and can even help students and other industry professionals network to better their future careers.
