Who We Are
The Natural Sciences Council was founded in 1972 to serve as the official liaison between students and administration within the College of Natural Sciences. We aim to improve academic and student life by publishing valuable resources, proposing solutions to campus-wide concerns, and empowering students and organizations through representation and collaboration. We currently have 8 committees that focus on different sectors of student engagement and work together to organize service events, promote science education in the Austin community, host professional development events, and improve the academic and student life experience of all students.
What We're Fundraising for
NSC spearheads multiple school-wide initiatives which have included Natural Sciences Week, Curie Diaries, and the Voices of CNS. Furthermore, we fundraise to equip students with academic and professional tools. Help support students through supporting NSC’s events, programs, and community opportunities!
CNS Connections - CNS Connections offers science undergraduates from across the college with an opportunity to network and discover opportunities for post-graduation. Companies that have attended in the past include Macromoltek, Google, NovaCentrix, Thermo Fisher Scientific, IBM, and many more!
Service - NSC aims to promote STEM education within the community through our Young Scientists and Kids Who Code volunteer programs which give students the opportunity to teach science lessons in East Austin elementary schools.
Catalyst - Catalyst is a student-run publication that aims to promote student voices and highlight academic and student life in the College of Natural Sciences. Catalyst also compiles and updates resources such as Freshman Research Initiative stream information.
Your Impact
A donation to NSC is not solely for NSC members, but will influence the lives of thousands of CNS students.
