Who We Are

The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas is a global leader in training and outreach for journalists, with more than 20 years of experience helping strengthen journalism and press freedom in Latin America and the Caribbean. Each year we host the International Symposium on Online Journalism (ISOJ), which brings together industry leaders, journalists, scholars, and students from around the world in a unique hybrid event that bridges the journalism world with academic excellence.

What We're Fundraising For

Help us celebrate our 25th anniversary of ISOJ, April 12-13, 2024, at The University of Texas at Austin and online! We're fundraising to help bring students and professionals together at this special anniversary conference. Since its inaugural year in 1999, ISOJ has been at the leading edge of the intersection of journalism and digital technologies, anticipating trends and shaping the future of online journalism. The upcoming 25th-anniversary conference is not just a celebration of the past: it's a commitment to continue leading the way for the next quarter-century. We will have panels about AI in journalism; elections, polarization and misinformation, war and conflict digital coverage; environmental reporting; and more. In honor of our 25th anniversary, please consider giving us $25 (or more) to help support this international conference that has pioneered our understanding of how technologies are shaping journalism and its impact on society.
