Texas Blazers

Who We Are

The Texas Blazers, founded in 1994, is an honorary service, leadership, and spirit organization devoted to serving The University of Texas at Austin. Members are chosen from the UT Austin Student Body for their leadership, commitment to service, and academic achievements. Texas Blazers are known for their involvement with the community, serving as official hosts for the university and as mentors at Eastside Memorial High School. The organization is led by an elected Chairman and ten other executive board members and recruits new members every academic semester.

What We're Fundraising For

Texas Blazers Excellence Fund is an endowment to go beyond scholarships and provide resources for students when and where they need it most. These critical needs include:

Supporting the UT Outpost food pantry to address student food insecurities.
Offering summer housing stipends so students can intern or take classes.
Providing business attire for students while interviewing.
Distributing emergency funds to support students experiencing unexpected obstacles to their education or engagement.

Your Impact

The Texas Blazers Excellence Fund will aim to address each of these areas and help support student success on campus.

Food insecurity, hunger, and lack of resources are rising issues on the Forty Acres.
About one in four UT Austin students has experienced food insecurity within the last 30 days.
More than 8,522 meals have been provided to students dealing with food insecurity in the past year.
On average, 1.2 lbs. of food will feed a student one meal for $2.95 per meal.
The UT Outpost clothing closet provided professional clothing to more than 100 students in the past year.
