Who We Are
Texas Triathlon and Cycling is a sports club at the University of Texas at Austin that provides group workouts, coaching, and support for triathlon, cycling, and other endurance races. The skill levels of our members range from beginners with little to no exercise background, all the way to athletes who have completed an Ironman. Our team is open to the entire student body, faculty, and staff at UT.
We strive to help our members achieve whatever goals they may have. This could be getting in shape and completing your first sprint distance triathlon to qualify for an IRONMAN world championship race. During off season, many of us will also train for other endurance events such as full/half marathons or duathlons.
For Triathlons, we race in the USAT South Midwest Collegiate Conference. This conference is made up of schools from Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. For cycling races we compete in the USA Cycling South Central Collegiate Cycling Conference. For both sports we also go to collegiate club nationals at the end of the season.
What we are fundraising for:
Triathlon as a collegiate sport is getting bigger every year! However, many triathlons are inaccessible due to the high starting cost associated with purchasing a bike, training gear for three different sports, and entry/travel expenses. The goal of our triathlon team is to eliminate as many monetary obstacles to joining as we can, by covering travel and entry fees and whatever else we can!
Your impact:
Our funds are used to take our athletes to Collegiate Nationals free of charge, as well as to put on our annual Bevoman Triathlon, which is free to our members as well. The rest of our funds are put towards covering travel and housing expenses for out-of-town competitions, entry fees, and lowering the costs of team uniforms and equipment. Your gift will allow our incredible athletes to compete in all the competitions they deserve to be able to attend, uninhibited by cost.
Our team also supports local athletics in Austin by volunteering for running and triathlon events held in the city, in addition to working closely with local running, cycling, and triathlon businesses.
