Texas Taekwondo
Welcome to Texas Taekwondo!

What Is Texas Taekwondo?

Texas Taekwondo is the largest RecSports and martial arts club at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in WT or Kukkiwon Taekwondo. The club centers around the Korean martial art of Taekwondo, directly translating to "the way of kicking and punching." This translation is the core concept of our club, represented in two distinct disciplines. These are Poomsae, a set of practiced patterned forms representing the art that is Taekwondo in its entirety, and Olympic-style sparring, also known as Kyorugi.

With a range of members, from complete beginners to USA national team members, the club prides itself on supporting the individual journeys of all members, regardless of their experience. As such, Texas Taekwondo places a heavy emphasis on community and fostering an inclusive environment, that promotes the growth of all members to their highest potential, while also bringing the club to further heights.

What We're Fundraising For

For our members, a year-long training session culminates with the opportunity to compete at the national level in spring. This event is the National Collegiate Taekwondo Championship, this year at the University of California Berkeley. As four-time National Collegiate Champions, we at Texas Taekwondo are prepared to defend our title and bring back another victory for the fifth year in a row.

For us, the National Collegiate Championships is not just a competition, but an unforgettable experience that we as a team share. The bonds that we form with each other at Collegiates cannot be made elsewhere. It is what changes us from teammates to family. We'd like to invite you to join our family and donate to our fundraiser so we can support our athletes and make travel costs as low as possible.

What Is Your Impact?

Your gift will help finance travel costs and entry fees for athletes that are unable to afford them. These cumulative costs are expensive, and we want to assist as many athletes as possible. It is crucial to us as an organization to not let financial situations hinder the personal growth and development of an athlete.

Which is why we need YOUR help! This year, we are aiming to provide ALL of our members the opportunity to travel and showcase their hard-earned skills. We are dedicated to fostering an environment where student-athletes have the ability to grow and challenge themselves, both as Taekwondo athletes and as university students. This tournament is important for athletes of all skill levels, as it stimulates growth individually and for our program as a whole.

Here at Texas Taekwondo, we are a family, a group of people with all sorts of interests and backgrounds, who come together not only to train but to support each other in competition and life.

Your support is the reason we've been able to represent the University of Texas at Austin at the highest level for so long and reign as consecutive national champions and for that, we can't thank you enough!
