UT Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club

Who We Are

The UT Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club strives to provide an affordable, beginner-friendly, and welcoming atmosphere for members of the Austin community to learn grappling and self-defense. In recent years, the sport has exploded in popularity, and this organization allows students to learn the sports among their peers.

What We're Fundraising For

We are fundraising to expand the presence of our organization on the UT campus and promote Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a whole. This means hosting our own tournaments, holding seminars to improve technical development, and sponsoring students to participate in tournaments around Texas. We are also fundraising for gi’s (uniforms) and rashguards to provide our members with cleaner, safer apparel for training. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can be an expensive sport, but with a unified fund, we can help each member's ability to improve regardless of their ability to pay.

Your Impact

UT Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been greatly impacted by the support of donors over the years. The funds contributed have directly allowed for the continued maintenance and replacement of equipment necessary for ensuring the quality of training provided at a price unmatched. Furthermore, donor gifts have enabled us to put on events such as tournaments, and seminars by expert instructors from other gyms. This year specifically, we hope to be able to sponsor the cost of attending multiple tournaments so that our members can showcase their skills and represent UT Austin.
