UT Water Ski Team

Who Are We?

Established in 1976, the University of Texas Water Ski Team is a Division II competitive collegiate team. We are dedicated to teaching and spreading the sport of water skiing to everyone at UT. A spot can be found on our team for anyone who wishes to learn the sport. We practice at Frameswitch Ski Club, a rented facility 32 miles from campus in Taylor, TX. At collegiate ski tournaments, the team competes in 3 events: jump, trick, and slalom. Competing in the South Central Conference, the team goes up against two of the top collegiate skiing teams, the University of Louisiana Monroe and the University of Louisiana Lafayette. Despite this, we have consistently qualified for collegiate nationals by being one of the top five teams in our region! 


  

What We’re Fundraising For

The team is primarily funded by member dues and an official sponsorship from RecSports, the sports club division of the University of Texas at Austin. The RecSports funding must be shared with all other club programs at UT, so a large portion of our budget comes from dues, fundraising, and other sponsors. We try our best to fundraise and reach out to potential sponsors and profit shares so dues stay low, attracting as many students as possible!


The team has grown significantly over the years and we’re excited to see where this takes us, but with a larger membership, there are also financial hardships. Your support can help to fund our tournament team boat and replace worn-out team equipment, such as skis and ropes. We’re hoping to jump-start a new competitive edge for our team and bring back Texas as a leading force in the world of water skiing. We would appreciate your support in achieving these goals!


Your Impact

As a smaller size sports club team, donor gifts have continued to help the UT Water Ski Team grow and become a leading force in the Water Ski world. The majority of the time our new members have little to no experience skiing, therefore they have no equipment of their own. Donor gifts allow the team to supply our new members with quality equipment, allowing them to not only learn to ski but become part of our small family.
