Who We Are
Our mission is to educate the next generation of nursing professionals and prepare our students to address issues affecting the health of our communities. Show your support for the UT Austin School of Nursing during this spring’s 40 Hours for the 40 Acres!
What We’re Fundraising For
Our Area of Greatest Need supports a wide variety of areas within the School and ensures that we are able to address students, faculty, and staff needs in a timely manner. This fund provides us with the flexibility to seek new opportunities to support innovative, hands-on education, clinical and research faculty, maintain state-of-the-art facilities, and student-related efforts and needs. With your support, we stand ready to support and educate skilled, compassionate nurses in whatever situation comes our way!
For more than 20 years, The School of Nursing’s Wellness Centers have put education and research into practice by providing comprehensive primary care services to the under-represented and uninsured of Central Texas. Our Children’s Wellness Center (CWC) remains the only full-time children’s health care facility in the Del Valle community. Thanks to the CWC, Del Valle ISD continues to see some of the highest childhood immunization rates in the state. Our new Social Resource Center also helps families experiencing hardship by offering resources such as a food pantry, clothing closet and an office center with internet and fax access. Your support is vital to helping us provide excellent, equitable care for every patient that walks through our doors.
Our Simulation and Skills Center (SSC) educates students in the art and science of nursing – the critical interpersonal and hands-on skills necessary to effectively produce positive patient outcomes. This state-of-the-art nursing education facility incorporates simulated, yet realistic, learning experiences into our curriculum. By providing the opportunity for real-world experiences, the Simulation and Skills Center (SSC) takes pride in ensuring that our students develop the exceptional skills, knowledge, and personality that our community has come to expect from Texas Nurses.
Our Office of Student Services serves both prospective and enrolled School of Nursing students by providing support for admission, registration, scholarships, campus services, career preparation and job placement. Our Student Services staff empowers students to achieve their dreams beyond academics through professional development, peer mentorship and solidarity among our cohorts. Thanks to your support, we celebrate the special milestones in our student’s journey from clinicals to convocation with events such as Gone to Nursing, Light the Lamp, Honors Day, and many more.
Your Impact
With the support of generous donors like you, we continue to educate and prepare a new generation of exceptional, skilled, and compassionate nurses. We are proud to share that we ushered in a total of 215 Texas Nursing graduates during the 2022-23 academic year. These graduates will go on to care for our communities, continue groundbreaking research and educate our next generation of Texas Nurse leaders. Together we will keep our communities safe and healthy!
