Who We Are
We are the University of Texas at Austin's Women's Ultimate Frisbee club! We have two teams in our club, Melee and Mayhem. Our teams travel locally, as well as around the country to compete in Ultimate tournaments against other colleges. Our goal is to introduce ultimate frisbee to as many people as we can, develop our program's players, and compete with some of the best teams around the nation.
What We’re Fundraising For
Our 40 for Forty funds largely contribute towards tournament bid fees, jerseys and assisting underprivileged club members so that financial hardship is never a reason one of our members has to miss out on the love of the game.
Ultimate frisbee has a history of being dominated by a privileged demographic because of its origin in mainly colleges around the U.S. Therefore it has been a goal, not only for UT Women's Ultimate, but for all of the ultimate community, to rectify that by emphasizing awareness, outreach, and accessibility in order to diversify our community. By keeping member dues manageable and offering financial assistance from the club, we are able to retain members that would not have been able to participate otherwise.
Athletics are so important for keeping the body and the mind healthy especially for college students. Sports clubs are often a reprieve from long hours of studying and benefits our team members' mental health while exercising their bodies. For many members, ultimate frisbee was nonexistent before college, and life-changing after. We aim to provide that opportunity for any person willing to take it, regardless of personal background and socioeconomic status.
