What We’re Fundraising For
Thank you for visiting the Moody College of Communication fundraising page! While we are highlighting our departments and schools below, please know that a donation to any of our initiatives, departments, programs or centers is valued and greatly appreciated.
Department of Communication and Leadership: All aspects of society need ethical, effective leaders, and all leaders need to be ethical, effective communicators. The Moody College of Communication’s degree in Communication and Leadership is a flexible, customizable interdisciplinary program that seeks to educate and inspire future leaders to lead positive change in our complicated world.
Department of Communication Studies: Communication Studies seeks to understand communication and to improve its practice in a variety of relationships. It focuses on two person and family communication, communication in small groups and in large organizations, communication across communities, the nature of language and symbols, and the nature of argument and persuasion in political settings and in social movements. It is a department recognized for its world-renowned researchers, top-ranked programs, and award-winning teachers.
Department of Radio-Television-Film: At the heart of Austin, seeding both the high-tech industry and vibrant arts community, is UT's Department of RTF. This is where students can write / direct / edit / shoot / produce the next Hollywood blockbuster, original television pilot, or small indie gem; where they gain hands-on training with the latest and greatest animation and visual effects technology; and where they can launch their creative and professional career by honing an understanding of the historical, cultural, industrial and global contexts surrounding film, television, and digital media.
Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences: Speech and language impairments include voice disorder, articulation problems, fluency problems, aphasia, phonological problems, and delays in speech or language. Hearing impairments include partial hearing and deafness. The Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences teaches students to understand and treat these challenges throughout the entire lifespan of human development from early childhood through the elder years and encourage them to develop a holistic understanding of the communication process and to investigate new ways to expand the mind’s potential to formulate, absorb, and express ideas.
School of Journalism and Media: Journalism and Media offers a modern blend of fundamental basics, such as writing and reporting, along with an innovative curriculum to prepare upcoming investigative reporters, social media editors, and data analysts. With a hands-on approach in teaching, mentoring and editing, it provides students with both the sensibilities and the skills to be complete journalists and valuable contributors to an open, democratic society.
School of Advertising & Public Relations: The School of Advertising and Public Relations continually seeks ways to train and empower students, staff and faculty of all ethnicities, races, genders and identities to work collaboratively to produce world-changing campaigns and research. From challenging degree requirements to a priority of intertwining as much of the “real world” as possible in the classroom, this school is committed to providing the tools needed to create the next leaders in advertising and public relations.
