Who We Are
The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture (UTSOA) has a longstanding legacy of preparing students to be leaders in the design disciplines. We work to build upon this strong foundation while continually refining our approach to teaching, research, and scholarly work
What We're Fundraising For
Supporting UTSOA during 40 Hours for the Forty Acres will help level the playing field for our students and enable meaningful educational experiences throughout their academic careers. Once our students are admitted and enrolled, it is essential that each one of them has the same access to the full suite of opportunities the School of Architecture has to offer—from technology, travel, and study abroad, to professional internships and residencies at some of the most renowned firms around the world. A gift today will support our student equity initiative and make a difference for every student.
Like the design field itself, architecture education is materials-intensive and requires significant and ongoing investment in technology to stay on the leading edge. One way your 40 Hours for the Forty Acres gift will support UTSOA is through our Student Technology Fund, which will help UTSOA purchase up to 10 latest-generation laptops that we can then administer in a long-term loan program to undergraduate students with financial needs. Your gift will not only support the cost of the computer, but also software licenses, credits for plotting on UTSOA equipment, and administration costs by the UTSOA Technology Help Desk student employees.
We believe that architecture and design play a key role in addressing complex local, regional, national, and global issues and that our work will advance a better quality of life for all people. A learning environment that welcomes a variety of perspectives and backgrounds is crucial to addressing these concerns. Thank you for your essential support.
