Who We Are
The Division of Student Affairs influences the life of every Longhorn. Every day we’re making the Longhorn life as rewarding, secure and memorable as possible. The Division of Student Affairs is a laboratory for the college experience. We’re constantly crafting new opportunities for students to discover who they are and where they want to go. Our goal? To transform and define what it means to live the Longhorn life.
Led by Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Soncia Reagins-Lilly, the Division of Student Affairs works with many partners to influence our students in Living the Longhorn Life®. The Division’s nine departments, 37 units and 39 facilities offer first-class programs, facilities and services.
What We’re Fundraising For
You have many ways to give back to The University of Texas at Austin. Every school, department and program on campus is deserving of support, but the Division of Student Affairs is unique. We shape the life of every student every moment they’re not in a classroom. When alumni think of their time spent here on campus, it’s the Division of Student Affairs that, quietly and constantly, defines their memories. We are your “college years.”
Your gift to the Division of Student Affairs will have an immediate and wide-ranging impact. You can ensure that every Longhorn is healthier, safer and better poised to make the most of their college years and beyond. The NOW Fund is our unrestricted fund—i.e., the money we use to both address urgent student needs and make long-term investments in student services.
In addition to meeting critical on-campus challenges—such as the Counseling and Mental Health Center and UT Outpost, Food Pantry and Career Closet—the NOW Fund also helps launch innovative programs such as freshman orientation, student internships and Burnt Orange Leadership Development.
The NOW Fund is how you can be certain your gift will open opportunities that students wouldn’t otherwise have. Please consider making a gift to ensure all students have the chance to unlock their full potential.
Your Impact
“Obviously, UT Austin is a great academic institution, but there is a lot more to a college education than just classes. College students are in a transformational period in their lives in which they are learning about themselves and their relationship to other people. The Division of Student Affairs provides so many resources to help students on this journey both to smooth over the inevitable problems that may arise, but also to open up new opportunities to prove to students that life is far more interesting than anything they imagined for themselves.”
