Who We Are
In the Department of Communication Studies, we learn about communication in human relationships. We study communication in relationships that are as intense as marriage and families, as large as political communities, and as involving as the workplace. Our students go out into the world prepared to think about how communication works in a wide range of contexts, and they are ready to improve communication wherever they may find it.
Our graduate program enrolls almost 100 students in both masters and doctoral degrees and our student community boasts representation from many parts of the nation and world. Graduate students work closely with faculty advisors and fellow student scholars to develop their research and teaching skills in a collaborative environment.
What We’re Fundraising For
Our last year’s campaign allowed us to provide over $1,500 to 10 of our graduate students’ research projects through our Annual CommSGC Scholarship Fund. Our goal this year is to increase our scholarship recipient pool to 20 students.
