Who We Are

At Texas Athletics, our core purpose is to instill the passion, knowledge and character for all student-athletes to win with integrity—in academics, in athletics and in life.

In 2021, for the first time in school history, The University of Texas at Austin was awarded the Division I Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup. This prestigious award recognizes the university with the most success in collegiate athletics over an athletics year. Your support for our student-athletes and sport programs fuels this level of excellence and accomplishment at Texas Athletics.

What We’re Fundraising For

Gifts made to Texas Athletics during this fall’s 40 Hours for the Forty Acres campaign will go towards Longhorn Excellence to support of critical areas need for student-athletes. Your gift will provide enrichment to Texas student-athletes in areas such as education, nutrition and sports medicine (plus more!). All gifts made to Longhorn Excellence are 100% tax deductible.

Texas Volleyball competed in the NCAA National Championship Match in 2021.

Your Impact

Your gift to Longhorn Excellence will ensure our student-athletes have resources that meet a Texas standard of excellence in the areas of education, nutrition, recruiting, travel, sports medicine, and personal and professional development.

$7 gives a student-athlete a day of proper strength and conditioning training
$90 is the average cost for 6 months of leadership development programming for one student-athlete
$260 covers a week's worth of away competition travel for a student-athlete
$700 fuels a student-athlete with the proper, grab n’ go nutrition they need for two weeks
$5,000 offers one year of academic support, such as virtual tutoring and learning services, to a student-athlete

In 2021, Texas Baseball advanced to the NCAA College World Series for the 37^th time in program history,
remaining the all-time leader in appearances by any college program.

Texas Athletics sustains its own operations and the educational and competitive pursuits of more than 500 student-athletes. Over the 2020-21 athletics year, your gifts to Longhorn Excellence helped our Longhorns to:

A tie for the league record with 13 Big 12 Conference titles
13 NCAA Championship top-10 finishes
3 National Championship titles (Men's Swimming & Diving, Women's Tennis, Rowing)
Winning the Division I Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup for the first time in program history (and breaking Stanford's 25-year win streak!)

Texas Men's Swimming & Diving earned their NCAA-best 15^th national title in program history.

Texas Women's Tennis earned its third NCAA team title in program history.

Texas Rowing won the 2021 NCAA Championship and captured the first national title in program history.
