As the world navigates a global pandemic, we are reminded that as policymakers, public servants, nonprofit leaders, members of the private sector and more, LBJ School alumni play a critical role in contributing solutions to society. Their training from the LBJ School is put to the test: They approach complex problems and find innovative answers. LBJ School alumni are doing immeasurable good on an international scale, and with your support, the school can continue to produce alumni that are thinkers and doers.
What We’re Fundraising For
During this year's 40 Hours for the Forty Acres Campaign, we are highlighting the LBJ Women's Campaign School. The LBJ Women's Campaign School trains women to run for office or manage campaigns regardless of political party affiliation. We inspire women to enter the political arena, and empower them with the skills to win.
Your Impact
The 2020 election was historic as record numbers of women, women of color and LGBTQ+ women ran and won races for elected office. However, progress has been incremental and women are still underrepresented at every level of elected office.
The COVID-19 pandemic disproportionately impacted women, especially women of color, differently abled women and LGBTQ+ women, which is why as we work to rebuild our communities, it is critical that women be represented in all levels of government.
Philanthropist Melinda Gates proclaimed that when we lift up women, we lift up humanity. But there is still so much work to be done to lift up women in the United States.
