The Division of Diversity and Community Engagement at The University of Texas at Austin is a national model for integrating diversity and community engagement into the core mission of a university. DDCE connects UT’s intellectual resources with communities across Texas and supports students who face the greatest challenges in accessing education, focusing on four core pillars:

What We're Fundraising For
Your gift to DDCE’s area of greatest need supports student success, campus culture, community engagement and K-12 education in Texas by providing essential support to programs like:
- The Student Services with Disabilities ensures students with disabilities have equal access to their academic experiences at the University of Texas at Austin by determining eligibility and approving reasonable accommodations.
- The Gender and Sexuality Center (GSC) provides opportunities for all members of the UT Austin community to explore, organize, and promote learning around issues of gender and sexuality. The center also facilitates a greater responsiveness to the needs of women and the LGBTQIA+ communities through education, outreach, and advocacy.
- The Multicultural Engagement Center (MEC) is a student resource office that supports a culturally diverse campus and helps cultivate a positive campus climate.
- The Center for Community Engagement (CCE) serves as The University of Texas at Austin’s central resource for those interested in volunteerism and service-learning throughout the UT and Austin communities.
- Inclusive Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) focuses on addressing the income inequality gap for overlooked communities by helping them learn the tools of wealth creation, innovative thinking, community stewardship, and social impact.
- The Longhorn Center for Academic Equity (LCAE) is a learning community that empowers students personally, academically, and professionally to become innovative, productive and engaged global citizens who are committed to social responsibility and promoting a diverse community of people, ideas, and perspectives.
- Global Leadership and Social Impact is our award-winning global programs give students a project-based academic internship with real-world work experience in three dynamic and rapidly changing cities — Beijing, Cape Town and San Jose, Costa Rica.
- Latina/x and Indigenous Leadership Institute (LILI) is a space where Latina/x & Indigenous student voices are amplified and affirmed. LILI aims to empower its students to cultivate lasting connections with one another and engage in critical conversations informed by their intersectional identities.
- The Fearless Leadership Institute, an academic, professional and personal development initiative for young Black and Latina women studying at UT.
- The Heman Sweatt Center for Black Males, an innovative, faculty-led academic community that offers professional development, special opportunities and mentorship for young Black men at UT and across Texas.
- McNair Scholars, a program that supports outstanding first-generation UT students from low-income, underrepresented backgrounds who will go on to complete doctoral degrees.
- RVG Familia, a personal and professional development initiative that empowers UT students from the Rio Grande Valley — and their families — through programs, training, events and workshops.
- The Longhorn Center for School Partnerships (LCSP) is a portfolio of programs that provides college readiness services for underrepresented students, including both academic and college awareness initiatives.
