Who We Are
Each university school and college has a college council made up of, and representing their students. The Senate of College Councils is the coordinating body that brings the college councils together to represent students in academic affairs and provide student opinion on academic issues to the university administration. Senate's mission is to strengthen and improve the academic culture of the university, create awareness and pride in the academic strength of the university, and ensure that The University of Texas at Austin is and remains a "first class university ”.
What We're Fundraising For
Senate of College Councils is working to raise funds for their endowed scholarships which include: The William C Powers Jr Endowed Scholarship This scholarship aims to recognize outstanding student leaders for their contribution to the UT community.
- The Non-Traditional Student Scholarship This scholarship is designated to celebrate the accomplishments of non-traditional students, as there are not many awards for this classification of students.
- The Study Abroad Scholarship This scholarship is designed to assist a student studying abroad in an upcoming academic year.
- The Academic Improvement Scholarship This scholarship is designed to reward students who have shown significant improvement in academics despite performing poorly in previous academic years.
- The Undergraduate Research Scholarship This scholarship adds financial assistance to encourage research endeavors on campus whether professor led or independent.
Contributions will help to maintain the stability of these existing scholarships. Additional funding could mean higher scholarship amounts and/or a higher volume of scholarship recipients.
