Who We Are
The Texas Health Promotion Club (THPC) is a student-run organization open to all majors at the University of Texas at Austin uniting like-minded individuals under a common goal of health promotion.
The mission of THPC is to promote the health and wellness among UT students and the surrounding community. We focus on including diverse members of UT students, learning about and addressing issues related to social justice and social determinants of health, and improving health equity among UT students and the surrounding community.
THPC actively participates in campus events, volunteers in the community, fundraises for local organizations, holds interactive health-related workshops, and offers professional development opportunities for its members.
What We’re Fundraising For
Texas Health Promotion Club will be fundraising to supplement the annual scholarships that are awarded to club members. This scholarship rewards active members with the opportunity to financially support their educational endeavors
Donors' gifts enable the club to continue programming efforts like career development, scholarships, and health workshops. Career development opportunities comprise a large part of Texas Health Promotion Club's activities.
Such opportunities include a resume building workshop specifically geared toward health promotion jobs and internships, a career panel with professionals in the health promotion/health care industry, and individual guest speakers who've worked for the CDC or other establishments that relate to the specific career goals of club members.
