Who We Are
The Blanton Museum of Art is the principal art museum for the vibrant city of Austin and one of the country’s leading university art museums. With a collection of 19,000 works of art, the museum serves as a cultural pillar for campus and the community by offering world-class art experiences that are thought-provoking, visually arresting, and personally moving.
What We’re Fundraising For
Connecting people with art is the core of what we do at the Blanton.
Did you know that the museum works with EVERY school and college at UT?! Typically, our annual attendance total for UT students averages 20,000 people, meaning experiences with original works of art are integrated into the lives of students from across campus—from the humanities to the sciences. Customized visits actively forge connections between what students are learning and art on view the Blanton.
In response to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are now committed to serving our campus community creatively online, bringing the museum to anywhere classes may be learning. We are developing important new digital resources and teaching tools that enhance the educational experience of university students from wide-ranging disciplines.
At the Blanton, we are committed to serving as a unique, integral, and enriching part of the Longhorn experience.
The Blanton depends heavily on admissions, membership, donations, events, and other income to be able to pay for our programs and staff–so the closure due to COVID-19 significantly impacts us. We also know that when we re-open, it will be at a reduced capacity to allow for social distancing, therefore limiting admissions income for an additional, extended period.
Your generosity during 40 for Forty is more important than ever. Your support will be directed to the Blanton Together Fund, which will allow us to continue to be a vital resource that provides the experience UT students need to change the world.
Gifts of any size to will together help us weather these tough times and ensure the Blanton remains a pillar of our community.
