Who We Are
The UT Information Security Office is defends, protects and serves UT Austin, the entire UT System, much of the State of Texas and over 1,800 other campuses across 200 countries. In the State of Texas alone, this office helps to defend over 1.5M computers and systems against over 18M attacks each day.
This team teaches applied cybersecurity courses to students in multiple colleges on campus and the courses are both very popular and in high-demand.
This team has also invented a number of novel cybersecurity tools and products that are licensed at many other higher education institutions across the country. They continue to innovate and develop new tools and capabilities to serve the planet.

What We’re Fundraising For
These initiatives will establish a space for students to gain concentrated cybersecurity experience and knowledge to be leaders in this evolving market. It will create new opportunities for students to leverage our data and analytics to make new discoveries, reduce threats and create new knowledge and research to detect and defend against emerging threats.
Supporting these initiatives will result in sustained and tangible impacts. These initiatives will focus on addressing the gap in unfilled Cybersecurity jobs across the country (3.5M by 2021) and the massive diversity challenges that exist therein.
Supporting this initiatives will help students be better prepared, will evolve related research more quickly and will better position the country overall to better defend against targeted attacks.
The UT Information Security Office is a proven force that is able to maximize resources, effect amazing positive change and is a leading innovator in this space.
