Who We Are
The mission of Texas Athletics is to define what it means to be the world's best athletics program, instilling the passion, knowledge and character for all student-athletes to compete to win, to succeed academically, to achieve their dreams in life and to positively contribute to society. Our purpose is to prepare students to succeed with integrity—in academics, in athletics and in life.
What We’re Fundraising For
COVID-19 has interrupted each one of our lives. In March, Texas student-athletes stopped competing and began to safely social distance with the rest of the world. Over the past few months, Texas Athletics has responded to COVID-19 by providing innovative tools and novel approaches to student-athlete academic and athletic support.
Each of our 500+ student-athletes has been impacted by COVID-19. We need your help to preserve a premier student experience in athletics during and after this global pandemic. 40 for Forty donor support will go toward:
- Student Services (things like tutoring, leadership opportunities and career services)
- Performance, Health and Wellness (for example, mental health services, sports medicine and nutrition)
- Longhorn Excellence, which supports a range of areas of need including education, nutrition, recruiting, facilities improvement and student-athlete development.
Your gifts during 40 for Forty provide innovative tools and resources for keeping our student-athletes on track toward earning their degrees as well as in competition-level shape during their time away from the Forty Acres. Here are ways that you can help to support our student-athletes:
$0.50 provides a student-athlete with the resources to engage in leadership development for one day
$7 gives a student-athlete a day of proper strength and conditioning training
$50 can fuel a student-athlete for one day with the proper nutrition they need to keep their body in top-notch shape
$98 gives a student-athlete the academic support they need for one week
$126 provides a student-athlete with the proper care and recovery they receive from our sports medicine department for a week
$330 covers a week’s worth of books and fees associated with enrollment at UT for a student-athlete
