Texas Cycling is the cycling club for The University of Texas at Austin. As both a student organization and competitive sports team, the club seeks to promote the sport of cycling on campus and facilitate rider development. Students at every level come together for road cycling, mountain biking, track cycling, and cyclocross. Student-athletes compete in the Division I within the USA Cycling South Central Collegiate Cycling Conference against regional schools. Our club also stays involved in the community through bike safety clinics, charity events, and regular volunteerism.
Alumni Sponsorship Program
Every year, team funds are used to sponsor four riders (two men, two women) who would otherwise be unable to participate in cycling. The sponsorships are awarded to those with a demonstrated need for support, and a passion for riding and racing. Uniforms, travel, licenses, and competition costs can place an undue burden on the already strained finances of a collegiate scholar-athlete. Your donation gifts an opportunity for those who wish to participate, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Racing and Riding
Texas Cycling competes in mountain bike racing in the fall and road racing during the spring against rival schools such as A&M, Baylor, and Texas Tech. Our team was named 2017 SCCC Conference champions, and consistently ranks in the top of each mountain bike and road race in our conference. Cycling competition builds teamwork, sportsmanship, character, and personal discipline. Your donation allows our team to travel and compete to races, which bring benefit to us and others tenfold.
Philanthropy
Our club completes over 100 hours of service collectively each year. By partnering with local organizations such as Inside Books Project, UT Student Government, Holland Special Events, and more, we use our talents to contribute to causes both cycling and non-cycling related. Your donation helps our team do more work in the Austin community by leveraging the spirit of UT students.
