What we are about - UT Men’s Soccer boasts the highest level of men’s soccer here at UT. We participate in the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) in the fall season, competing at the regional and national level. Despite being a club organization, we are proud of the professional manner in which this team is run. The labor is divided among a President and three Vice Presidents, as well as a Webmaster and a Social Chair. We also hire two alumni of the club as coaches because they understand the values of the club and share in our vision to win the National Championship, something we last did in 1995. Apart from working to compete at NIRSA, we also find ways to give back to our community. That includes a semesterly trip to the Dell Children’s cancer ward, in which we spend a morning hanging out with the children braving treatment there.
Why we need your help - Club membership is based on ability, attitude, and commitment. That being said, we never allow membership to be based on financial resources or lack thereof. So, if a player is good enough to make the team, but then he talks with the President and the coaches and says that the dues are restrictive, it is a goal of ours to always find the resources necessary to cover that player’s dues. Last year, much of the money from 40 for 40 went to securing four players’ commitment to the club who otherwise would not have been able to join.
